Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees for a public library is a governing body responsible for overseeing the operation, management, and welfare of the library. The Board of Trustees ensures that the public library serves its community's needs effectively, responsibly, and equitably. The board sets policy, oversees finances, and ensures that the library fulfills its mission and vision.

OV Public Library Board meetings are held at 5 pm on the 3rd Tuesday of the month in the Library. The public is welcome to attend and be heard at board meetings. If a member of the public wishes to bring up an issue for board consideration, they are encouraged to contact the library director to see id the issue may be placed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting. The Board reserves the right to to schedule additional meetings, cancel, or reschedule meetings as needed, allowing advance notice as much as possible.

Interested in joining the Board of Trustees?

Elections for new Board members are held in May during the School Budget Vote. You must complete a petition from the OV Board Office which includes 20 signatures of Otselic Valley residents to be considered a candidate on the ballot.
